"Well, they just unveiled their newest device, the GT S-Series, a wicked and mind-blowingly powerful Onewheel that's set to put some smiles on people's faces.
Ladies and gents and lovers of anything board-like, lend me your eyes for the next few minutes so that we can get to know a bit about Onewheels and their recently unveiled GT S-Series, an Onewheel trinket that takes an existing crowd favorite andamps it up big time! First and foremost, allow me to point out that the S-Series isn't just an updated Onewheel, but rather, a completely redesigned machine with features that allow it to be lighter, faster, stronger, and more balanced than previous generations.

All this starts off with the presence of something dubbed "Recurve Rails." By reshaping the Onewheel's footboard, more leverage and control are now possible, not to mention comfortand without sacrificing any ground clearance.

Part two of the story has to do with all the changes made to the drivetrain. First off, the S-Series is running under 113V, and according to the manufacturer, that's 50% more voltage than before, thus, power. Yet, this is only possible with an updated motor, one that runs neodymium magnets for peak torque and acceleration.

In comparison with the standard GT model, the S-Series is able to crank out twice as much torque at the same speed. Throw in some Japanese NSK bearing to ensure as little friction as possible, and that's the base for the S-Series. All that's good for a top speed that caps at 25 mph (40 kph)" Autoevolution.com GT- S-Series: Onewheel Drops Their Smartest, Fastest, and Most Powerful Off-Road Board - autoevolution

Introducing the new GT S-Series with Recurve Rail and the new GT S-Series Rally Edition, with new development behind the rail geometry for the new Recurve Rails.
The team spent months to achieve the ideal asymmetricrail geometry to give riders more leverage and better handling without sacrificing clearance, or stance comfort and flexibility.
We would CNC a set of rails, test ride, make tiny adjustments and continue the process until we landed at the Recurve Rails we're releasing today.
They are unbelievable on trail, we know you will enjoy! Recurve Rails will be available as an option on S-Series boards and on the new Rally Edition, which also comes with the 6" motor hub installed stock from the Factory.
Lastly, now that S-Series is in mass production and we're not shipping parts next-day-air to fulfill orders on time (we've been known to go to such lengths) we've achieved some cost savings and we're happy to pass it along to riders.
Going forward, the base model S-Series will be $2,900, a $300 cost reduction.
It's always been an amazing deal for the riding experience, and now it just got a little sweeter.

Onewheel GT S-Series 4.6 Out of 5.0 - Based on 140 reviews

I've ridden them all and the GT-S is FM's best Onewheel to date. I’d been holding off on upgrading, but when FM offered the trade-in program, I couldn’t resist. The more powerful GT-S motor delivers extra torque and acceleration, powering through situations the GT struggles with. The slimmer lowboy footpads are contoured just right, you to really sink into the board. The stock tire is unreal and dramatically improves the overall riding experience- more traction, better handling in tight turns, etc. I’m not a speed demon however the GT-S is faster and more stable at higher speeds. I reached 24.3 MPH with no pushback and no threat whatsoever of a nosedive, and there was still more room for higher speeds. Although a few pounds lighter than the GT, the reduced range is real, but only by a few miles. The app is excellent and offers numerous riding profiles, with the option to customize to suit your preference. Onewheel isn’t the only game in town- I considered a board from another manufacturer that touts more power, more/better settings control, etc. at a lower price, and I heard first-hand from trusted riders how excellent those boards are. For me though, I didn’t want to deal with purchasing through crypto, assembling the board from scratch, dialing all the settings, etc. I wanted an exemplary out-of-the-box riding experience and that’s exactly what the GT-S delivers.

I haven’t felt this way for a board since the first plus I ever got. I was around for every board release since the pre ordered plus which took forever. The feeling I got from that was unmatched until today The jump from plus to XR just seemed out of necessity of not carrying a solar charge converter and a bunch of lipos in a backpack but the CnR plus was more ballsy than an XR. The JW/CBXR didn’t do it for me either although it was arguably more fun to have a topped off battery feeling for 50% of those packs. The pint and Px deserve no explanation and I widely hate that platform still. The Gt was amazing but just about as good as the jump from plus to XR for me. I actually rode my XR faster than I ride my GT. The GT is amazing but the footpads are atrocious. The tire on the GT also sucks ball sack so the footpads and tire are 💩 But now… this GT-S. The second I balanced I knew this was special. I was standing in my garage and I was so happy. The ride is amazing and the tire is great. No one is joking when saying this is the best out of the box OneWheel they’ve ever ridden. It’s mine too Nothing will match the emotion for me w the plus but this took the cake for pure enjoyment of the ride by far. Just incredible and I’ve just begun.

Onewheel does a GREAT job! I like many parts of working with your company. There is phone service which is awesome. The turn around times on repairs is about a fast as it can be. Products like the GTS keep getting better! The board itself is as solid and hassle free as Apple products. Keep it up! You guys are doing great!!! One BIG critique is that the app does not have a cycle duty meter. I would understand the limits of the board much better if I could watch how much of the power band is left to use in a situation like a standing start, or how much more I could push the board going uphill. How the battery is being used, or spikes in voltage in pushy situations. Or this is a BIG one, how much can I actually demand of the brakes before they fail? IMO Onewheel will be perfected once the board can rip DOWNHILL like a snowboard without brake failure for a 200 pound man. I want to SEE these limits in that app with graduating meters or needles that go from zero to redline. Help us to understand the BMS with readable measurements. Get it? This NEEDS to be a part of the app to understand the magic a little bit better! Make the graphics clean. Make them technical enough for the experienced rider. Get on it!!!! Scott Gerling

First and foremost. Wow. This thing rips. The Onewheel Gt s series is an absolute animal on the trails. Hills that I would barely make it up on my Gt, I can now fly up gaining speed the whole way. It’s the pinnacle of Onewheel. The board gives you confidence like you’ve never had before. I was worried that with all the power available I wouldn’t have the range I became accustomed to going from the xr to the gt. But boy was the worry completely gone when I took it to my most frequented trail. I rode with a buddy who had a gt and we felt the need to charge at the same time. The board 100% had more usable range. So even though I was at a lower percentage than him in the app. The board felt just as responsive at 20% as it did at 100% battery. The feeling this board gives you. I haven’t wanted to ride a board this much since my first xr. It’s addicting! You guys knocked it out of the park with this board.

TLDR that is all you need to know. Now the actual review. I have owned an XR for over 2 years, same with the Pint X. Both boards worked flawlessly throughout the time I had them. Loved them to death they were my escape from the world. The GT S Series however... totally changes everything! I have yet to hit pushback on this thing and for the first time feel like my comfort level is the speed limit - not the board. The amount of potential this board has is unrivaled. Hills are no longer a drag but now some of the most fun parts of the ride. Keeping up with bikes and traffic is no longer a concern. Constantly fearing that I will over torque the board when going over bumps and inclines - non existant. I just cannot believe how much power this board has. I feel so much safer riding this board. FM knocked it out of the park here and they seem to really be listening to the consumer lately. Hate that it was so expensive but so so worth it! Stop reading, get one and ride!
